Elephant Backpacker is located 5 minutes from the city centre and is easily accessed by bus and train. We offer no frills style accommodation for budget conscious guests. Breakfast is included in your room tariff and there is a communal kitchen should you wish to cook and eat. The building has a
By train it cost $18 (using our Opal cards). You need to get off the train at St James and walk about 10 minutes across a park and down a hill to us.
The shuttle bus costs $15 and delivers you to our door. If you want the shuttle bus ring 9661 1170 when you are through the airport and they will tell you where to stand for collection.
If there is more than 1 of you a taxi may be cheaper (approx $35) depending on time of day..
We are located in Woolloomooloo (just next to all city attractions) on the corner of Sir John Young Crescent and Crown street. We are minutes walk to the City centre, Opera House, Sydney Harbour, Botanic Gardens, the night life of Kings Cross and Oxford St, Hyde Park and all public transport.
Conditions & Policy
1.Check-in & Check-out a.A passport for international guests or photo id for Australian guests must be shown at check-in. b.Check-in: from 1pm and checkout prior to 10am. If you do not checkout before 10am, we will retain your key card deposit of $20. c.A $20 deposit must be paid by all guests at check in. Deposits can be paid by cash or card and will refunded by cash. d.All card payments will incur a 1% processing fee. e.If you 2 or more guests have booked at the same time for a dorm room, we will endeavour to place you in the same room but regrettably cannot guarantee you will be together. 2.Cancellation Policy a.If you book a refundable rate we have a 24hr cancellation policy. Late cancellations and no-shows shall be charged the equivalent of the first night's accommodation. Exception: during the New Year's period, no refunds will be given. b. If you book a non refundable rate there is no cancellations or refunds what so ever. 3.New Year Bookings New Year's period from 28 December 2018 to 1 January 2019 there are special booking conditions: a.During this period there is a minimum stay of 4 nights. b.All bookings made for the New Year period will have their credit cards charged 1st December. c.If funds are not available and your payment is declined we will release your bed. d.Once paid, there will be no refunds, cancellations, changes or transfers permitted for the New Year Period 2018/2019. e.We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance.
